M's Food Find #43

Now before I whisk off to do some more stuff, such as buying more cupcakes for Starlight Foundation in uni, let's finish this post on a new food find. Seafood at the Red Cray along Great Eastern Highway. They are known for their lobster and judging from the 2 orders we had, they looked real good. And taste pretty fresh and sweet too according to my dinner companions.

We headed there to celebrate Nurun's birthday, but really there were Shiyu and Daniel's birthdays too in April. So after some shopping in the city Friday night, we drove down to The Red Cray. I went with Sam and we got a wee bit lost. It is such a classy restaurant hidden in the midst of warehouses and such. It was night obviously and so dark. So peel open your eyes and you will spot it eventually with its bright lights and glass panels.

We started off with scallops and mash as entree. They were big and juicy. Seared properly. For AUD19, there are no complaints.

Crazy, this seafood platter for two. Consisting for battered fish, grilled fish, mussels, oysters, prawns, calamari and the fried cakes which I cannot quite remember. But I distinctly remember its either mushrooms or crab cakes. NEVERTHELESS for AUD75, it is way worth it for two big eaters or three/four small eaters.

Fresh kilpatrick oysters.

One of the lobsters special. We ordered the Royale and Maine (unsure) if I was not wrong.

Huge portions eh. But better reviews for the first lobster photo.

Grilled whiting for Shiyu. Looks like a good choice.

Caesar salad, what else can I say. I prefer Dome's but hey, bacon bits and croutons I shan't complain.

We ordered a brownie mudpie with ice cream and requested for a candle. Unfortunately, even when we told the waitress that, not that I was expecting anything but a ncie small piece of complimentary cake plus this would be a good touch of custmer service. By this time, we were all so full from dinner, only Shiyu and Nurun were left to finish it after the other three took a forkful.

There we have it, my dinner companions and I. Sam doesn't do photos, so well he's missing in here. So for those of you looking for a new place to eat in Perth and somewhere different for a special occasion, this one place will do it for you. Most patrons were dressed very nicely for dinner and enjoying the classy friendly ambience.

Till my next food find, Mayy xo
